The Fusarium mycotoxins deoxynivalenol (DON) and 3-acetyl-deoxynivalenol (3-acDON) were determined in grain samples from naturally infected and Fusarium culmorum inoculated plants in field experiments in Norway during 1992-1996. The mean DON content in trials with inoculated plants was 11.8 mg/g in spring oats, 11.3mg/g in winter wheat, 28.9 mg/g in spring wheat and 31.4 mg/g in spring barley. In the natural infection trials the mean DON content was 0.32 mg/g in spring oats, 0.22mg/g in winter wheat, 1.48mg/g in spring wheat and 0.54 mg/g in spring barley. Only small differences in DON content were observed among cultivars, and significant differences were found only in winter wheat in the inoculation trials, and in spring wheat in the natural infection trials. A significant correlation was observed between the 3-acDON and DON contents in the inoculated trials in all grain species, the mean ratio of 3-acDON to DON ranging from 0.011 in wheat to 0.071 in oats.

Planteklinikken ved Planteforsk Plantevernet får av og til inn prøvar med tujasopp (Didymascella thujina). Siste rapporterte funn var i 2002 på ein hekk av kjempetuja (Thuja plicata ) i Hordaland. Tujasopp kan føra til at småplanter daudar, men på større planter vil berre einskilde nåler eller nedre greiner gå ut.

I samarbeid med Etne, Ølen og Vindafjord forsøksring og andre forsøksringar i Hordaland og Sogn og Fjordane vart det i 2001 starta eit prosjekt der målet er: * Å demonstrere metode for innsåing av kløver og raigras eller timotei i eng og beite. * Finne fram til rett driftsopplegg etter innsåing for å få best mogeleg resultat av innsåinga. * Betre nitrogenforsyning til eng og beite i økologisk drift I eit nyleg avslutta europeisk forskingsprosjekt ("Oversåing av kvitkløver i etablert grasmark") blir det skilt mellom oversåing og direktesåing. Oversåing vert definert som ein lågkostmetode for etablering av nye planter i eng utan noko form for såbedpreparering. I praksis er dette breisåing av frø over ei langfingerharv etterfølgd av trommel. For å lukkast med oversåing vert det peika på tre nøkkelfaktorar: 1. Preparering av grassvoren før såing 2. Tidspunkt for såing 3. Tiltak i etterkant av såinga

The continuum hypothesis of fluid mechanics is given an interpretation dependent both on the medium ( the air) and the way of measuring parameters describing the dynamics and the thermodynamics of the air. A link is then made to some of the basic ideas of the real number system of pure mathematics. ( This also could be interesting to present for the mathematicans.). Then we get some idea of the scope of the real number system as this tool is used in dynamical meteorology and in micro meteorology (describing the dynamical situation at a reference meteorological station). The Navier-Stokes equations are presented for the most simple stationary case for an incompressible fluid system Then the phenomenon of turbulence is given an interpretation, by using the well known Reynolds method of fluctuations from a mean value of each parameter. Turbulence is then interpreted as fluid dynamical phenomena on smaller scale than the systemof making measurement in the actual operational case. Also the concept of a sub grid model of meteorology is given the following interpretation: All physical phenomena with shorter time scale or a smaller spatial scale than the numerical model considered, and it has to be described in some general, often statistical manner.

An interpretation of the well known general scientific method, the hypothetico-deductive principle, is graphically presented, containing a slightly more restrictive interpretation than usual (The test of a system is interpreted not as a testing merely of scientific hypotheses in mathematical laguage, but as an explicit testing of the definition of the quantitative parameters and the measuring systems of these parameters as well). The outcome of this discussion is a proposal of a documentation system of quantitative meteorological parameters, either measured parameters or parameters derived by model calculation. The documentation system presented is at the moment implemented in a web-based system for administration of meteorological parameters belonging to The Norwegian Crop Research Institute, both parameters measured by an automated network of meteorological stations and parameters being the outcome of meteorological weather prognoses.
