The poster summarizes multi-year field trials on sweet potato production under Nordic conditions, conducted at Landvik, Norway. It presents the background for testing sweet potato as a high-value crop in Norway, including increasing demand, full reliance on imports, and the limitations imposed by a short growing season. The objective was to evaluate season-extension strategies, including mulch, low tunnels and fiber-cloth coverage, and to identify high-performing cultivars. The poster includes a trial overview, materials and methods, selected results for cultivar performance, mulch and tunnel treatments, and earlier trials with different numbers of fiber-cloth layers.
