Analyses of pesticides and other organic chemicals
NIBIO Biotechnology and Plant Health, Department of Pesticides and Natural Products Chemistry is the national reference laboratory for the analysis of pesticide residues in food of plant origin. Food safety is our priority and we are responsible for all analyzes, follow-up of sampling and reporting in connection with the Norwegian Food Safety Authority's monitoring program for pesticide residues in food of plant origin. In cooperation with the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, we prepare sampling plans, sampling instructions, annual reports and EU reports. We carry out the monitoring program for plant toxins in selected grain-based products on behalf of the Norwegian Food Safety Authority.
The laboratory holds accreditation for pesticide analysis in food and environmental samples according to NS-EN ISO / IEC 17025, and has modern analytical instruments park including LC-MS / MS, GC-MS / MS and LC-HRMS (Orbitrap). We participate in European cooperation through EURL (EU Reference Laboratories), EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) and CEN (European Committee for Standardization).
The laboratory collaborate with research scientists in the development of new analytical methods, improvements in methods and implementation of research projects that require analyzes. We provide customized analyzes and analysis packages, as well as guidance of research scientists and students in chemical analysis. Please contact us when you have any questions.
