GHG measures
GHG measures include possible measures related to plant cultivation systems, land-use and agronomic methods, including storage and use of manure.
The government has imposed the agricultural industry in Norway to reduce the total GHG emissions by 5 million ton during the period 2021 - 2030. That means a reduction of 500 000 CO2-equivalents per year. The measure potential is summarized in tables in the report "Utslippsreduksjoner i norsk jordbruk". The toal potensial described in the report may lead to an annual reduction of just below 500 000 CO2-equivalents. The possible measures are linked to the topics below:
- Better adapted planning and use of fertilizer
- Drainage
- Soil compaction
- Biochar
- Storage of manure
- Biogas
- Clover in meadow
- Cover crops
