NIBIO is a project driven research institute and collects approximately 400 million NOK annually in project funding from both national and international sources. A lot of activity is carried out through EU and EEA-projects and we also participate in research projects in Asia, Africa and Latin America. NIBIO coordinates several large international projects with a particular focus on food security and climate change. The list of projects is not complete.

DairyMix. Multi-criteria assessment, decision support and management tools for sustainable circular mixed farming systems for dairy production
A total of 10 research institutions from Europe and Latin America have joint forces to develop a tool for dairy farmers. The overall aim is to increase sustainability and reinforce climate friendly mixed crop and dairy production systems.

TerraNordica: Nordic Partnership for Soil Health and Agroecology
Soil health and Ecosystem Services (ES) are assessed through measuring carefully selected physical, chemical, and biological soil indicators related to dynamic soil properties, and compare these to thresholds or standard values that separate healthy from unhealthy conditions.
