NIBIO is a project driven research institute and collects approximately 100 million NOK annually in project funding from both national and international sources. A lot of activity is carried out through EU and EEA-projects and we also participate in research projects in Asia, Africa and Latin America. NIBIO coordinates several large international projects with a particular focus on food security and climate change. The list of projects is not complete.
Conservation and breeding potential of native fruits in the Czech Republic and Norway - NATFRUIT
Fruits are irreplaceable part of human diet with compounds beneficial for human health. Native fruits are even more important, since they represent germplasm for future, treasury of genes, a range of bioactive compounds, antioxidant capacity, metabolomic pattern and other traits desirable for breeding in the environment and climate changing and for healthy food.

NanoRem
NanoRem (Taking Nanotechnological Remediation Processes from Lab Scale to End User Applications for the Restoration of a Clean Environment) is a research project, funded through the European Commission FP7. It focuses on facilitating practical, safe, economic and exploitable nanotechnology for in situ remediation.

TUNESinURB aims to create an ecosystem-based information system on urban ecosystems and their ecosystem services through the application of a set of indicators for assessing and mapping with a view to better understanding and implementation of sectoral policies for device and Development territories.
